Alterations

Modern convenience for country charm

Our client acquired this old school house which required a bathroom to make it a more useful space.

Sawtooth Architecture Solway Crescent

The schoolhouse was moved to the site along with an old Salvation Army hall. While the hall had been modernised to create a comfortable three bedroom home, the schoolhouse remained virtually unaltered.

Our client wished to use the schoolhouse as a guest room and so we worked to artfully conceal a small bathroom within the entry lobby. A small kitchenette adjacent provided welcoming tea making facilities. The whole was executed to remain faithful to the lovely old building while also providing much needed modern comforts.
